Our goals include raising awareness of the highest international and national standards in women’s health, reproductive health, and the right to access reproductive health services, and ensuring their implementation in our country. We focus on activities in education, awareness, advocacy, and sensitization to achieve these objectives.

The concept of Reproductive Health is defined by the World Health Organization as “not only the absence of disease or disability, but also a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being in relation to the reproductive system, its functions, and processes. Reproductive health includes having a satisfying and safe sexual life, the ability to reproduce, and the freedom to make decisions about when and how frequently to do so.”

There are approximately 7.7 billion people in the world. Around 49.6% of the global population is female. About 420,698 live births occur daily, with 17,529.07 happening every hour. There are approximately 2 billion young people under the age of 15, 937 million of whom are girls and 1.6 billion are boys. In the modern world, life expectancy is increasing in developed countries, and the population of women over the age of 64 is around 315 million. Our world has now reached its highest population and the highest youth population. However, in developed countries, the aging population and the related health and care issues are also becoming more prominent. Turkey is the 17th most populous country in the world, with approximately 1.09% of the world’s population living in Turkey.

Women and child health are directly linked to the level of development of countries and the scope and quality of healthcare services. Thanks to programs developed for maternal health, there has been a significant reduction in maternal deaths. Preventing sexually transmitted diseases and unsafe abortions and deliveries is also a core part of many countries’ health policies. Screening methods developed for the early detection of women’s cancers have also had a positive impact on women’s health in developed countries. Women’s health is influenced throughout their lives by various factors such as gender equality, education, employment status, economic resources, and working environment. A healthy pregnancy and safe delivery positively affect both maternal and newborn health, reducing infant and child mortality and morbidity. Furthermore, women are primarily responsible for the care of children and the elderly in many cultures and countries. Therefore, a woman’s health impacts not only her own well-being but also the health of the generations before and after her. Internal and external migration, regional social, cultural, and economic differences, wars, and natural disasters also pose significant threats to all health parameters for women and children. In many regions, issues such as famine, female genital mutilation, child brides, and violence against women also pose serious threats to women and child health.

As an association, we aim to monitor developments and new information related to adolescent, reproductive age, and post-reproductive age women’s health. Our goal is to create educational platforms to implement these developments and to adopt a holistic approach by collaborating with other specialties involved in women’s health. In this regard, we are ready to embark on this journey alongside all our stakeholders who are working towards reproductive health.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row color_set=”light_section” full_width=”0″ full_height=”0″ sep_bottom=”separator_bottom sep_angled_positive_bottom” particles=”0″ el_id=”facilities”][vc_column align=”text-center”][vc_column_text] Welcome to our association.
