Ovarian reserve refers to the pool of follicles that indicates a woman’s reproductive capacity. As a woman ages, ovarian reserve declines, leading to a natural decrease in fertility. Tests such as the Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) test, antral follicle count (AFC), and FSH measurement are used to assess ovarian reserve. For women with low ovarian reserve, egg freezing (oocyte cryopreservation) may be recommended to preserve fertility.
